Global Art Harmony: MET, Kusama & Art Basel 2025

Spring 2025 proved that contemporary art not only resonates — it transforms. From Jennie C. Jones turning the MET’s rooftop into a sound instrument, to Yayoi Kusama setting auction records, and Art Basel Hong Kong redefining the Asian art scene — this season is a powerful reflection of art’s emotional, experimental, and economic strength.

The MET in Sound – Jennie C. Jones and Architectural Music

With Ensemble, Jennie C. Jones transformed the rooftop of New York’s Metropolitan Museum into a sonic sculpture. Using concrete and aluminum, the installation reflects sound, light, and space, turning the skyline into a minimalist symphony and the viewer into a participant.

Yayoi Kusama – Records, Infinity, and Reflection

At 95, Yayoi Kusama isn’t slowing down. Her works smashed auction records (over $13 million) while her Melbourne retrospective became the largest exhibition of her career. Combining infinity rooms, dots, and emotional depth, Kusama continues to show that art can be both deeply personal and globally valuable.

Art Basel Hong Kong 2025 – Asia Shapes the Future

With 240 exhibitors and a strong Asia-Pacific presence, Art Basel HK 2025 made a clear statement: the future of art is multilingual, digital, and politically aware. Highlights included Lu Yang’s 108 digital avatars, Betty Muffler’s Indigenous trauma landscapes, and Christopher K. Ho’s satirical colonial sculptures.

Art as Resonance

These three events offer more than art — they echo our times. MET resonates with space and silence, Kusama with legacy and therapy, and Hong Kong with identity and innovation. Artanabo listens, reflects, and amplifies.
